Service Dogs are allowed on the boats. We may ask you if your dog is a service animal, if it is not clear. We will not require a document or other proof that your dog is a Service Animal.
The American Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a service animal as any guide dog, signal dog, or another dog individually trained to work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability, who if asked, must be able to describe the specific task performed or work done by the animal. The work done or tasks performed by the service animal must be directly related to the handler’s disability. One’s disability may not be apparent (e.g. seizure disorder). A “comfort”, “emotional support” or “therapy animal” that provides support simply by being itself does NOT meet the definition of a service animal. If the animal is not individually trained to do work or perform a task, it is considered a pet under the ADA.
** Please note: we are not legally required to accept an emotional support, comfort, or therapy animal on our boats.
Click link for further information about Service Animals and the ADA.
Your Service Dog is allowed to accompany you on our boats and in the dining room of the Lac du Saint Sacrement. If you are bringing your Service Dog into the dining room of the Lac du Saint Sacrement with you, please notify us in advance as we will need to provide extra space at your table for your Service Dog. Your Service Dog, however, must not cause disruptions. If your dog is disruptive to our other customers (barking, biting, snapping or other such behaviors) and you are not able to make the behavior stop or control the animal, we have the legal right to ask you and your animal to leave or to move to another part of the boat where your dog is not around our other customers.
Service Dogs are allowed on our boats. Other pets are only allowed on our boats if the Captain of that boat gives permission. If permission is granted by the Captain, these pets MUST be in a small pet-approved mesh carrier which must be ventilated, zipped or fastened closed, and able to be carried with one hand. The pet is not allowed to come out of the carrier during the duration of the cruise.
** ONLY SERVICE DOGS ALLOWED IN SAINT DINING AREA OR ON MOHICAN FAMILY DINNERS. No dogs in carriers.
Masks are recommended to be worn by all non-vaccinated passengers over the age of 2 years. Vaccinated passengers do not have to wear a mask during anytime on our cruises as per the latest New York State guidance.
Yes. Each boat is accessible by ramp. The Minne Ha Ha and the Lac du saint Sacrement both have lifts to the upper decks. The lift accommodates standard sized wheelchairs. If you have another type of wheelchair or mobility aid, please contact our office to check the lift weight and size capabilities. The Mohican is 1st deck accessible only.
Yes. We sail rain or shine.
In the early spring or late fall seasons, cruises may be cancelled due to poor weather conditions and/or low cruise attendance, as there is a minimum threshold that must be met to sail.
If for any reason the Lake George Steamboat Company cancels a cruise, we will offer you a full refund or to reschedule your trip free of charge. We will contact you via the contact information you provided at time of purchase. If you are not contacted, the cruise will sail as planned.
If the weather is not ideal and you choose on your own not to sail, there will be no refund or rescheduling.
Fireworks are not put on by the Steamboat Company, and the Company is not responsible for the cancellation of a fireworks show.
The Minne Ha Ha and Mohican are not air conditioned. The Lac du Saint Sacrement is air conditioned and heated in the dining room areas only.
Seating is reserved on the Lac du Saint Sacrement Cruises if you have purchased the cruise with buffet. Seating is also assigned by our staff for the Mohican Family Dinner Cruises (Taco, Pizza, Fajita Friday, and Pasta). The indoor and outdoor seating on all other cruises is on a first come, first served basis and you select your seat(s) after you board.
Each boat has a maximum number of guests allowed on the top decks. This applies to all cruises, including Fireworks Cruises (fireworks may be visible from other decks), with no exceptions. The Steamboat Company Staff reserves the right to limit capacity on each deck as they deem safe.
If you wish to be seated with other guests making their own online reservation for Dining, you MUST CALL the Ticket Office prior to the cruise you book. Seating is Pre-Assigned and cannot be changed the day of the cruise.
A Sightseeing Cruise provides a two hour trip on the outer decks of the Lac du Saint Sacrement. Sightseeing passengers can enjoy a casual meal or drink(s) from our Port of Call Snack Bar and Lounge on the third deck.
A Buffet Cruise includes either lunch, brunch or dinner. After the buffet is over, passengers may remain at their tables or roam to the outer decks. Sightseeing passengers are welcome to enter the dining room for entertainment and dancing after the buffet service has ended.
The Midday Luncheon and Sunset Dinner Cruises aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement include musician Danny Lombardo. The Rockin’ Music Cruises have a variety of bands on their scheduled cruises on the Lac du Saint Sacrement. All cruises provide live narration from our Captains.
Strollers are allowed everywhere except the dining rooms on the Saint Sacrement. There are lifts on the Saint Sacrement and the Minne Ha Ha, but these are for wheelchairs, not strollers.
Service Dogs are allowed on our boats. Other small dogs are only allowed on our boats if the Captain of that boat gives permission. If permission is granted by the Captain, these pets MUST be in a small pet-approved mesh carrier which is ventilated, zipped or fastened closed, and able to be carried with one hand. The pet is not allowed to come out of the carrier during the duration of the cruise. They are not allowed in the dining areas of the boats. We do not allow any other animals on the boats.
No, but we do adhere to the “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service” rule. On the Lac du Saint Sacrement and Mohican meal cruises, most passengers dress “resort casual”. We do recommend a light jacket or coat for the outer decks, and flat heeled shoes for walking safely around the boat. If you are attending a party on the boat sponsored by an individual or corporation, please check with your host for attire appropriate to their function.
All three of our boats are completely smoke-free as of May 1, 2021. Smoking or Vaping are also not permitted on our dock, around the ticket office or while waiting in the boarding line.
Please be courteous to other passengers and comply with our provision of a smoke-free and vaping-free environment for our passengers and our employees.
No outside food, beverages or coolers are allowed to be brought onto the boats. We have cocktail bars and a snack bar on each boat. Exceptions are made for passengers with special dietary needs to include food allergies and baby food/formula. Passengers with special dietary needs should contact us at 518-668-5777 x4 to discuss their needs prior to boarding the boat.
You may, but the Ship’s Officers have authority to examine all items brought aboard this vessel.
Yes. We have a parking lot behind our gift shop, across the street from the Steel Pier. There is a parking fee to use the lot (no overnight parking).
For a minimal fee, we provide handicap parking directly on the Steel Pier for the duration of the cruise only.
All parking in Steamboat parking is on a first come, first serve basis, availability is no guaranteed.
We recommend a minimum of 30-45 minutes prior to departure in order to secure parking, pick up your cruise tickets and board. Some of our cruises board 15 minutes in advance of sailing, some 30 minutes, and the Lac du Saint Sacrement Buffet Cruises begin boarding 1 hour prior to sailing.
Access to boarding of the boats is closed 1-2 minutes prior to the scheduled cruise departure. The boats leave on time and will not be delayed for any reason.
During high volume event weekends (car shows, wine & food festivals, etc.) and on fireworks evenings, we recommend you allow extra time on top of the suggested times above. We do not give refunds for late arrivals/missed cruises.
Fireworks are not put on by the Steamboat Company, and the Company is not responsible for the cancellation of a fireworks show.
Our Steamboat Store is located directly across the street from the Steel Pier. During COVID, we will not have the Gift Shops on each boat. Hopefully, next year, we will be able to reopen the boats’ Gift Shops.
