COVID Precautions

Here’s what the Steamboat Company is doing to make your visit with us a good choice and as safe as possible from potential exposure to COVID-19:


  • We ask that those guests who are feeling sick stay ashore and cruise another day.
  • All passengers over the age of 2 years will be asked to wear a mask or face covering on the boat when not seated at their dining table, including on outside decks.
  • Our dining room capacity has been reduced and tables positioned to allow the required social distance between tables.  Exterior deck chairs have also been reduced in number and positioned for social distancing, as indicated by painted groupings on the decks of the boats.
  • Guests are required to maintain a six-foot safe social distance between themselves and other parties at all times.
  • Captains make frequent announcements during the cruise to remind passengers to wear masks and follow other COVID safety measures as indicated by signs posted on the boat.
  • Hand sanitizing stations have been placed around the vessel (at entrance doors, bathrooms, bars, buffet line) and are available to all guests and crew members.
  • Employees will have their temperature checked before each shift and will be required to wear facemasks during their shift.
  • Any employee with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit will immediately be isolated and the appropriate authorities will be notified.
  • Our buffet will be served by gloved servers to passenger specification, with utensils and food handed directly to the passenger.  Access to the buffet line will be governed by the food and beverage personnel aboard, with guests invited to the buffet line in small, orderly groups.
  • Drinks from the bard will be ordered only through servers to minimize passenger movement within dining areas.
  • Thorough sanitizing and disinfecting procedures are done between cruises for the entire boat.  We have changed our cruise schedule to accommodate extra time for this disinfecting between cruises.
  • Signage has been increased to inform passengers of hand sanitizer locations, appropriate and frequent hand hygiene, necessary mask wearing on-board and traffic flow with regard to snack bar orders and purchases, etc.
